Internal dashboards & reporting
An internal dashboard brings metrics from your inventory, accounting, CRM and other systems together in one place, so your team works with the same numbers. Roles control who sees what. Reports are generated automatically instead of by hand.
When this is worth it
If you recognise yourself in any of these, a conversation is worth having.
- Asking where things stand costs somebody half a day of spreadsheet work every time.
- Two departments quote different values for the same metric.
- Your numbers sit in several systems that do not talk to each other.
- The monthly report is assembled by hand and lands when nobody cares any more.
What you get
- Consolidation of your existing data sources
- Real-time metrics and reporting
- Role and permission management for teams
- Exports and scheduled reports
What drives the price
Every project has a fixed price, which you receive after the free initial consultation. These four points decide how high it is.
-
Number and state of data sources
Three systems with clean interfaces connect faster than one grown database with no documentation. The largest effort is rarely the interface, it is consolidating the data.
-
Freshness
A nightly sync is far simpler than real-time figures. The question is which decision you genuinely have to make immediately.
-
Roles
A dashboard for management is a fraction of the effort of a portal where each branch sees only its own numbers.
-
Defining the metrics
Where the company has not yet settled how a metric is calculated, that belongs to the project. This clarification is often worth more than the dashboard itself.
Internal dashboards & reporting: frequently asked questions
A custom dashboard is worth it where reporting alone is not enough. Off-the-shelf reporting tools are strong when your data already sits cleanly in one place and only needs displaying. We build when users should also enter or approve something in the same tool, when clients or branches need access from outside, or when per-user licence costs for a growing team exceed the cost of building your own. Which case applies to you, we work out in the initial consultation.
From your existing systems: inventory, accounting, CRM, time tracking, online shop or databases. We read them through interfaces, so nobody has to maintain anything twice. How current the figures are is your decision per source. A nightly sync for analysis and real time for anything where a delay genuinely hurts is the common setup. Every figure shows when it was last updated.
You define that through roles, down to the individual metric. The common setup is management seeing everything, department heads their area and staff their own figures. We treat person-related reporting separately, because works council codetermination applies there alongside the GDPR. If you have a works council, involve them early; it saves reworking a finished system.
We build the connections so a change at the source surfaces rather than quietly producing wrong numbers. If an interface breaks, the system reports it and marks the affected metrics as stale instead of showing the last known value. Within application care we adapt the connection. Without a care contract it is a regular time-and-materials job.
Usually six to ten weeks. Most of the time rarely goes into the interface but into consolidating the data: how many sources are connected, how clean their interfaces are, and whether real-time figures are needed or a nightly sync is enough. If the company has not yet settled how a metric is calculated, that clarification is part of the project and takes some time. You receive a binding schedule together with the fixed-price quote.
Small adjustments during the project are included in the fixed price. We work in short steps and show you the current state continuously, so changes surface early rather than at the end. If a new requirement comes up that goes beyond the agreed scope, you receive a quote for it first, also at a fixed price. You decide whether it is built now or in a later stage. Nothing gets more expensive without your prior agreement.
