Website relaunch & migration
A relaunch replaces your existing website with a new one without losing visibility, links or enquiries. We record every existing page, move the content over, set up a redirect for every old address and measure before and after the switch.
When this is worth it
If you recognise yourself in any of these, a conversation is worth having.
- Your website is several years old and awkward to use on a phone.
- You can no longer change content yourself because the system is outdated or the previous provider can no longer be reached.
- Over the years your site has built up visibility on Google that must not be lost in a rebuild.
- Your existing site has to become accessible and cannot sensibly be retrofitted.
What you get
- Inventory of every existing page and address
- Content moved into the new CMS
- Redirect plan for every old address
- Visibility and enquiries measured before and after the switch
Website relaunch & migration: frequently asked questions
Not if the switch is prepared properly. Before we start, we record every existing page and its address. For every old address that will no longer exist, we set up a permanent redirect to the matching new page. That keeps linked pages reachable and the visibility you have built is not lost. Without this step practically every relaunch loses rankings, and it is the most common avoidable mistake. After the switch we compare visibility and enquiries with the state before.
That depends on what the existing site is built with. First we check whether the system still receives updates, whether content is easy to maintain in it and whether load time and accessibility are achievable. Then we tell you openly which costs less. If the foundation is outdated, reworking is often the more expensive route even though it looks cheaper at first, because every change has to work against the old system. If the foundation is sound, a new design on the existing system is sometimes enough.
A website relaunch with Agilido has a fixed price that you know before the start. It is made up of the new website with a custom design, a CMS, technical SEO and accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA, and the effort of moving over: how many pages and how much content move, whether texts should be revised and how many old addresses need a redirect. A site with twenty subpages moves quickly, a presence grown over years with hundreds of posts takes considerably more. After the free initial consultation you receive a fixed-price quote.
Usually six to ten weeks. The new website itself takes four to eight weeks, like every Agilido website. On top comes the move: migrating content, revising texts where needed and setting up a redirect for every old address. A site with twenty subpages moves quickly, a presence grown over years with hundreds of posts takes longer. You receive a binding schedule together with the fixed-price quote.
No. The existing website stays online until the new one is finished and signed off. We build the new site in parallel and then switch over in one step, together with all redirects from the old addresses. Your domain stays the same, and your email addresses are kept, even if the hosting moves to us in the process. For your customers the site is reachable throughout, and after the switch they find the new presence at the same address.
